Flashes jump out to an early lead, then pour it on late...
Playing in their first postseason game, the Finger Lakes Flashes quickly jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first off of Bristol Academicals' ace Johan Santana and didn't look back as they cruised to a 14-3 Game 1 victory.
Staked to an early lead, Flashes starter Justin Verlander held Bristol sluggers Albert Pujols (47 regular season homers), Hank Aaron (46) and Jason Bay (41) to one hit in eleven atbats.
