  • 1st overall draft pick in the 2005 Rookie Draft by the South Side Soldiers.
  • Is being counted on to be an intergral part of the proud South Side Soldiers starting pitching group. A list of young hurlers that currently includes Francisco Liriano, Matt Garza, Jake Peavy and Matt Cain.
  • Nickname: King. The name says it all. Hernandez has it all. The young hurler has to reign it all in and become a prime time starter.
