Lackey mowed them down.
John Lackey of the Brossard Batons, not known as a strikeout pitcher, struck out 17 Santa Clarita Saints batters. He K'd the side on 3 seperate occassions. Jason Kendall led the K brigade, going 0-3 with 3 strikeouts.

Said Lackey of his dominant performace, "I just go out there and try to pitch the best I can in order to give the team a chance to win. Sometimes are better than others and today was just one of the better days."

I'd tend to agree with John on this one. Today was definitely one of his better days.

Now a member of the South Side Soldiers. John will be counted on to help lead the Soldiers rotation for years to come.

Lackey K's 17!
