The Newark Pepper won the LTFBL 2006 season, winning both the regular season and the postseason titles. "They had an amazing season," stated Joe Chapman, "I thought it would be a while before a team won both titles, but Fred Persch did it in just the second season of the league." Can Newark win it again in 2007 and become the first team to win back to back titles? "I don't know," said someone close to the league, "I think it's going to be tough to do that in a league with so many great and competitive baseball minds."

The Pepper were led by keepers Miguel Cabrera, Chris Carpenter and Joe Nathan. Nathan had a big year as a reliever, posting a 1.58 ERA and a .78 WHIP in 68 innings while notching 36 saves. Miggy wasn't bad either, hitting .339 with a .998 OPS as a three bagger. Carpenter anchored the staff, posting a 15-8 record with a 3.09 ERA and 184 K's. Justin Verlander was the big surprise, as he was taken in the 22nd round, going 17-9 with a 3.63 ERA.

Currently, the LTFBL is gearing up for another great season as it enters year three.

Important WIKI Information:

*This WIKI is shared with the Lp2 MLB League, as well as the LP2 HOF League. You can add to any pages that you want, but please don't delete any information unless you added it yourself. Each page has a discussion tab, as well, where you can discuss the page, without editing or creating page content. Most of the stuff on the sidebar to the left is for the Lp2 MLB League. If you add to any player pages, make sure in your note that you mention that the comment is in reference to the LTFBL, as two other leagues also comment on the same players. For example: On the Alex Rodriguez page you want to mention that he got drafted #1 by your team in 2005, you'd say that, but add "in the LTFBL." The only links you'll need will be directly linked below on this page. This site is best viewed when your browser is maximized, not minimized.
