Mariano Rivera
From Lp2 Wiki
December 8, 2003: Today the Broncos agreed on a huge trade with the newly-crowned LP2 champion Florida Christians. In the deal, the Broncos dealt Javier Vazquez, Bret Boone, and Steve Reed to the Christians. Just minutes after he learned about the deal, Vazquez was hear saying, "Wow, this is like being traded from the Expos to the Yankees!!" Bret Boone seemed very frustrated as he spouted, "I'm going from one team with a 2B controversy to another team to create a 2B controversy!" Reed seemed very happy stating that he was hoping to get a championship before he retired.
In the deal the Broncos received Kevin Millwood, Mariano Rivera, Pat Burrell, Milton Bradley, and Tony Armas Jr. Broncos' GM Fred Persch was excited about the deal, "While we hated to move those guys, the opportunity to pick up another great arm in the bullpen in Mariano Rivera along with an explosive bat like Pat Burrell is great!! Millwood will take Vazquez's spot in the rotation while Bradley and Armas Jr. will be important parts of our future here in Denver."
