  • Changed name to Florida Christians on 9/13/2001, after the terrorist attack on 9/11/2001. Here was the press release:

Tallahassee, FL (AP): Prior to today's game, MoJo JoJo owner and general manager, Joseph Chapman, announced that the team has been renamed. "The new name is the Florida Christians," stated Mr. Chapman, "I don't care what other people may think or say, I felt compelled for the last few weeks to go in a different direction with the team and it all starts with the name. In light of the recent events, I felt that our team name could be a symbol of strength for us all. Hence, it has been changed, effective immediately. The new uniforms are quickly being produced and should be ready for tonight's double header with, ironically, the Pimps."
