Will it be the undermanned Pimps, led by Cobb and Sheffield? Or will it be the Soldiers, who without Pedro, hope to make some noise?

Your answer:

Mike Sirotka, who is scheduled to undergo off-season surgery which will sideline him for all of next season, knew this was his shot, maybe even his last opportunity. Let me tell you something about Mr. Sirotka, he was up to the challenge. Knowing that the Pimps were a league worst 15-26 vs left-handers, if nothing else, gave him all the confidence he needed. Sirotka, along with Alex Rodriguez, propelled the South Side into the playoffs, with an 8-1 drubbing of the Evansville Pimps in their scheduled one game playoff. "I knew that I needed to be able to change speeds effectively," said Sirotka, "Luckily, I was able to do that consistently and accurately." Sirotka went the distance, allowing just 7 hits and one earned run. Offensively, the Soldiers were led by Alex Rodriguez, who homered and drove in 3 while going 3-5 at the plate. "I knew I needed to come up big," said A-Rod, "I am just thankful that I was given the opportunity." The South Side now packs its bags and heads for Los Angeles, to face the defending champions, the Los Angeles Kings. "It's gonna be a tough task," said one Soldier fan in reference to facing the Kings, a team the South Side went 10-18 against in the regular season, "especially without Pedro. But last year, they were down 7-0 in game 4 (down 3 games to 0) vs the MoJo JoJo's and somehow came back, won 3 in a row, and forced a game 7. So, anything is possible. Go Soldiers!" The playoffs start Sunday night, with Sante Fe Gamblers traveling to Tallahassee, and the Kings hosting the Soldiers (LA, SF, and FC all have 2 days off; the SS have 1 rest day). "We had a great season," Gary Sheffield, " I wish we could have been there in the end. Congrats to the South Side Soldiers, they were a better team, today."
