What is wrong with the Sun City Devils THIS TIME?

looking at the standings this season the devils are no different than they were last season. Already the Devils have the worst record at 18-53, experienced the league's longest losing streak at 12. The have the league's worst batting average at .223, the leagues worst ERA at 5.23. They are dead last in runs scored with 262 and see no hope in sight. Who is to blame for this travesty? Let's take a look at some key components.

GM Bobby Natural continually makes questionable decisions. After trading opening day starter for nothing they apparently Nate Robertson to the Birmingham Cloverleafs for Pedro Feliz...they failed to make a mark on their offensive woes and have a lot of underachieving plavers. Why haven't they moved anybody so that they can protect David Ortiz and Vernon Wells? Also why trade Nate Robertson who still leads Devils starters in wins even after they let him go for another arm while pithchers like Steve Trachsel still hold Lp2 roster spots. Right now he cannot be afraid to make any moves because the Devils cannot get any worse.

You just can't blame the GM let's look at some players who should be pumping gas instead...

David Ortiz has been the most dissapointing. After finishing 2nd in Lp2 MVP voting last lear Ortiz has already spent time on the DL and is putting up .225/.407/.485 with only 13 homers and 46k's

Vernon Wells has put up .260/.320/.470 with 13 HR and 52k's

Joe Crede.240/.298/.403 and Jeff Francoeur.211/.299/.366 are notable gas attendants as well.

On the Hill we didn't expect much but the Devils should be able to close games out. The starting rotation reminds me of Afganistan...bombed out and depleated. They rely on the effort of rookies like Adam Loewen2-0, 2.62 ERA, 34.1 IP in 6 starts and Casey Janssen3-3, 3.00 ERA, 1 complete game in 9 starts while veterans like Orlando Hernandez2-5 7.25 ERA 42 IP in 10 starts and Doug Davis0-4 7.71 ERA in all sorts of roles (all bad roles) but terrible neverthe less.

I fell for the hype at the beginning of the season. I thought that this team was gonna make noise. But the only noise they made was a loud THUD as they hit the bottom. This team should click it's heels three times and go back to OZ because it isn't working here in San Diego.
